’s Angela Parker from the Dallas Chapter of Dr. Umar Johnson’s Team Pan-Afrikan. Many of you know that Dr. Umar is working to create a school for our children like none we’ve ever experienced before; the Frederick Douglass and Marcus Garvey RBG International Leadership Academy for Boys. I am asking on behalf of the boys, (who will have the opportunity to attend this leadership academy), that we dig deep and sacrifice to bring this school into fruition. OUR BOYS NEED THIS SCHOOL!
Too many of our babies are slipping and falling through the cracks of the public school system. The “School to Prison Pipeline” is real and we MUST do our part to SAVE OUR CHILDREN. Your donation is the way to seal those cracks and cut off the prison pipeline. Too many times we pay lip service without action. Dr. Umar is taking action and we need to support his efforts. He will come to town and share his knowledge to raise funds for other people’s projects. It’s our turn to support his effort to create a FULL EDUCATIONAL safe haven for our next generation. Our elders and ancestors made sacrifices for us so that we can make sacrifices for the next generation; THIS IS OUR CHANCE.
We can’t be willing to make sacrifices for handbags and shoes and not make even bigger sacrifices for our children; what would that say about us? What other community of people does that? Think about that seriously… NONE OF THEM will sacrifice their children for things!
I’m asking that 100 people sacrifice and give $100 and 200 people sacrifice and give $50. These numbers a very are doable because most of us waste $20 every couple of days. We find ways to do what we want to do so WE NEED TO WANT TO DO THIS FOR OUR CHILDREN. This is our chance to stop complaining and actually DO something. If any community of people has it WE HAVE IT.
